A wise man once said: “Why are so many artists willing to suffer for their work, and so few willing to learn how to draw?” I see this sentiment repeated throughout this movement we call “Urban Contemporary”. I fear that the patient and diligent hand is being suppressed in favor of more immediate forms of contentment. Corporate attention, has replaced classical standards. The journey has been forsaken, the path has been shortened, and now the destination is crowded with many out of breath tourists.
I want to identify the divine. That divinity which is the approximate of every Human-being. Self-less acts of devotion, unrequited compassion, and a puritanical adherence to the noble. I believe that the sword of deception cannot penetrate the armor of truth.
